Massachusetts Attractions - John F Kennedy Hyannis Museum

The John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum is located at 397 Main Street in Hyannis, Massachusetts. It is a multimedia exhibit created to realistically capture the days JFK spent on Cape Cod. Cape Cod was a place where JFK relaxed with his family, sailed on the ocean and played football with PT109 buddies. Visitors will find over 80 photographs spanning the years of 1934 to 1963 arranged in thematic groupings to reflect John F. Kennedy, his family, his friends and the Cope Cod he loved. A video is narrated by Walter Cronkite.

The John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum was created by the Hyannis Area Chamber of Commerce. Cape Cod was a very special place for the Kennedy family.

The museum provides visitors with an up close and personal experience of all the dimensions of JFK’s life on Cape Cod.

It is open all year round. Individuals, families, tour and school groups are welcome to the museum, which are just a few feet from the Village Green on Main Street in Downtown Hyannis.

Hours:

Mid-April through Memorial Day, Monday through Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday Noon to 5:00 p.m.; Memorial Day through Columbus Day, Monday through Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday Noon to 5:00 p.m.; Columbus Day through Halloween, Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday Noon to 4:00 p.m.; November through Mid-April, Thursday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday Noon to 4:00 p.m.

Admission Prices

Children under 10 is Free
Children 10-17 is $2.50
Eighteen and over is $5.00

The museum offers Visi-Tour Rates, Edu-Tour Rates and special events accommodations. The video gallery hosted by Walter Cronkite accommodates up to thirty people. If feasible, they will also accommodate up to sixty people in one single tour.

Visi-Tours: If you have a group planning to visit, their group planners can incorporate a box lunch, wine and cheese reception, coffee bar, or dessert extravaganza into your visit.

Edu-Tours: The Museum can arrange field trips for school children of any age.

The permanent exhibit at the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum in Massachusetts features four rooms of distinctly different aspects of the former President’s life on Cape Cod. The Museum also host special exhibits from time to time usually on loan from the JFK Library in Boston. The special exhibits are at the museum for specified periods of time. Anyone interested can check with the Museum’s Events and Exhibits Calendar for specific information as to when a temporary exhibit is featured.
